About River Mill

Come Home to the Mill

River Mill ranges from historic to contemporary in an unparalleled setting. Nestled on 23 wooded acres, bounded by the Neuse River and Falls Lake, River Mill is the essence of North Carolina's rich past and natural beauty.

Come home to the tranquil sights and sounds of the river. Less than 30 minutes from Raleigh, Durham and RTP, easily accessible but far from the typical suburban landscape.

River Mill Drive intersects Old Falls of the Neuse Road just north of Falls Tailrace and a mile south of Wakefield Plantation.

The Mill and Annex

River Mill has a noteworthy place in history as one of the oldest manufacturing sites in the state. Its two pre-Civil War buildings, the granite ashlar three-story Mill and its one-story Annex, were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

These buildings are now home to 35 condominiums, with interior styles as unique as their setting. One- and two-bedroom garden-style condos provide spectacular views of the river. Three-bedroom lofts offer private entrances with garden patios. All have exposed granite walls, high ceilings and large windows with their original stone sills.

The Woods of River Mill

Just over a hill to the east of the Annex, is a secluded retreat known as The Woods of River Mill. Two contemporary buildings with 8 units each offer spacious, open floor plans and private wood decks. All have washer dryer connections, and half provide two-car garages. Life at The Woods combines the best of past and present.

Living at River Mill

The River Mill community shares flower and herb gardens, walking trails, a large gazebo with grills for outdoor cooking, a basketball hoop, horseshoes, canoe/kayak storage and plenty of parking.
